5 facing drug charges after Nashville raids

Law enforcement agencies in Tennessee often work together when investigating alleged drug operations. Various organizations recently teamed up in Nashville to address reported drug activity in some residential areas of the city. Five individuals are now facing a variety of drug charges following a series of raids by police officers.

Reports show that police conducted two searches at the same time late last month. One search occurred at a home in Goodlettsville, while the other took place on a street outside the city. Two men and one woman were arrested after marijuana and a firearm were apparently found. Police then went to another location on Music Row. Two additional men were arrested after marijuana was discovered near a drug-free zone.

In addition, officers purportedly found over $110,000 in cash, as well as ecstasy, LSD and THC oil cartridges. Documents show that an SUV, multiple firearms and motorcycles were located in the searches. Agents involved in the operation stated that residents in these quiet neighborhoods were likely unaware that an operation of this size was taking place.

The individuals involved now face charges of possession of marijuana, possession of THC oil and possession of a firearm during a dangerous drug felony. Other charges include conspiracy to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to distribute waxes and THC oil. Agencies involved in the operation include the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Postal Service, the 18th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Metro-Nashville Police Department.

Facing drug charges in the state of Tennessee is a very serious matter. If convicted, a person could face substantial fines and/or significant time in jail. It would be wise to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. A trusted lawyer will work with clients to minimize the potential negative impact on their lives.
