Nashville arrest resuts in alleged drug charges

Pharmaceutical methamphetamine, or "meth," is available legally and may be prescribed for certain conditions by physicians. However, a black market for the illegal manufacturing and selling of the drug does exist. Police officers in Tennessee and around the country frequently investigate locations they suspect may be used for distributing or manufacturing meth. A recent incident in Nashville resulted in arrests and drug charges for four people.

Nashville Metro Police report that a search was conducted at a home after undercover detectives had allegedly bought meth there. During the search, police purportedly found a suspected meth lab. For precaution, nine police officers were examined at a nearby hospital for possible exposure to the drug. All officers were released after the examinations.

Two men and two women were also taken to a hospital for apparent decontamination. According to reports, a 29-year-old woman, a 46-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man and a 39-year-old man have all been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. They also face charges of possession of Schedule I and II drugs in a drug-free zone as well as unlawful gun possession during the commission of a felony.

Police allege that they discovered all the materials for a meth lab in their search. They reportedly found other drugs, including ecstasy pills, morphine and oxycodone, at the home. Over $1,000 in cash and a gun was also apparently seized.

When Tennessee residents are facing alleged drug charges, they should contact an experienced criminal defense attorney immediately. A lawyer can evaluate the situation thoroughly and explore all possible defense options should a case come to trial. A strong legal team will help formulate the best plan to minimize any potential negative outcomes for clients.
