Man charged with theft and property crimes fled from officers

Tennessee police are searching for a Sevierville man who reportedly ran from them after being stopped for questioning. The 30-year-old man is being sought for his alleged actions in recent incidents involving suspected stolen property. Police believe he may have been involved in two separate theft and property crimes in neighboring counties. Arrest warrants have been issued for the man in both Sevier and Jefferson counties.

The first incident occurred when a Sevier County man reported that his truck had been stolen in Knox County on Feb. 12. Police claim that the truck ran into a patrol car and forced another vehicle off the road. The truck had also been allegedly involved in a chase with deputies from Sevier County. The owner of the truck subsequently reported that the vehicle had been returned to his home on Feb 13.

On Feb. 14, Sevier County deputies received a call that a man was driving a rail buggy that was possibly stolen. After locating the vehicle, police officers say they used their lights and siren to notify the driver to stop. Police claim that the man failed to stop, but instead jumped out of the rail buggy and ran into the woods. Warrants were issued for the man's arrest after police spoke with witnesses who allegedly saw him earlier in the vehicle.

When the man is apprehended, he will likely be arrested for these purported crimes. Those facing similar charges often seek the advice of a Tennessee lawyer experienced in theft and property crime defense. A seasoned criminal defense attorney will make every effort to help those facing similar charges for theft and property offenses avoid serious punishments that may arise. The consequences of a conviction could be severe, and a strong defense is necessary to help minimize repercussions.
